Today’s lesson was very informative. For me is a review of concepts learned, as I have been benefiting from SCARS for over 10 months.  I thank SCARS for all the help. I couldn’t imagine how I would be or feel, if SCARS wasn’t there for me, when I was a mess, right after the scam/crime ended.

I am a survivor!

There is no “He” or “she” is so important. I remember that was difficult for me in the beginning. I was mad at the person in the photo for a long time and had that photo embedded in my brain before I fully understood that it’s a team of scammers “they”. I like how the class is structured.

Helpful on victim blaming.

Helps to understand how humans are wired to be scammed under the right circumstances. Love Deby’s video.I first watched it back when I just discovered SCARS and very raw. It was an essential first step in helping me see how many people are victimized and that I am not alone and it was not my fault.

Today’s lesson was intense giving details of what happened to each of us, during the scam relationship and after it ended. A lot to process, but thank goodness we have a guide to follow and help available.

Watching the intervention was a tough watch as it made me remember the anger I felt with myself. I don’t have an issue coming to the understanding that the fraud story and people are fake but it is taking a very long time to understand that this is not my fault. Although I wasn’t in a romance scam, I felt the way he felt when he struggled to say it was not his fault.

Watched the video, probably for my third time. Suggestions on how to organize and depersonalize the crime were helpful. Seeing a good therapist was invaluable in helping me to get to the point where I was able to do that without blaming myself.

Today’s lesson material was filled with information that was particularly interesting to me. I really would like to get money back, but I do not want to jeopardize or delay my recovery doing so. I plan on following up with the law agencies I have reported to and putting less time & effort thinking about finding a private recovery specialist. All of those who have claimed to be able to help me have been scammers.

I appreciated the video interview. She had made amazing progress for 9 months.

I learned alot that did not apply to me and alot that did. Even though my crime ended 5 years ago…I would have liked to learn to report this way…Thank you it is a learning experience.

I wish I had this information prior as I hired a private recovery expert (Coin Dispute Network) and they were paid about $8,000 and ended up being seized as another fraud.

Não me sítio muito bem no tempo, mas ainda nem conhecia o termo, nem havia enquadramento para o termo fraude na internet e conheci um ortopedista que estava no Afeganistão, foi uma paixão louca.Fui-lhe enviando pequenas quantias de dinheiro para sair do exército e antes disso para receber um encomenda que vinha em mala diplomática. Não sei a quantia que enviei, mas deve ter sido um valor bastante grande quando somado. Até que desisti de enviar. Guardo o resto para ou tra altura

I enjoyed the two videos today. Such a positive message with reinforcing that we can be survivors. Great affirmations. Avoid anger & hate – that was hard for me in the beginning. Debby’s story is so real. Scams can happen to anyone, even experts who have the knowledge and tools for it not to happen to them. Her story was well summarized and brave.

I loved today’s lesson, especially Debbie’s video.

Debbie’s story has resonated with me, I’m in IT and understand the realities of online security and seem to have been manipulated through a relationship scam, although not romantic, these tactics have allowed me to build trust with a fictitious character acting on behalf of an organization. My real learn here is to have and maintain solid trust communication with my spouse and friends and not feel the need to seek this elsewhere.

I really enjoyed the videos & articles in today’s lesson. All had some great information and as usual were so relatable. I’m really glad I found in SCARS a reliable source that seems to have an unlimited amount of great advice that really is a big help. Thank you for being here!

The guide I found on your site on how to go to the police to report the crime was most helpful. Otherwise, I don’t think my husband would have reported it with the local police. It took a lot of courage to do so. Reporting it with FTC and FBI was much easier.
Rebuilding Trust is a big topic for me. Although, I wasn’t the direct victim (my husband was) I felt like a victim being dragged into it unknowingly and left dealing with the mess it caused for the entire family emotionally and financially. This was especially hard in the beginning before I understood the psychological manipulation behind the crime. Reading all the literature on SCARS website was incredibly helpful, very thankful for your work!

All the information provided for today was great! A lot of the topics were spot on descriptions of my experience. Very helpful.

Like in every day’s lesson, there is something new we learn. I was so clueless when I did my report, but I did my beat with the information I had at that time. Luckily I was able to submit organized evidence and was able to get a report number. Thank you Scars for all this well structured and informative information. It will definitely help many.
